As some of you know, my father-Pat Bradley-runs a nonprofit organization called International Crisis Aid. We have hosted several events in our offic that have raised funds fot the different types of programs and services ICA provides. My father has always gone where there is a need, usually targeting "no go zones" where others will not or cannot go.
Last night he and a team of people landed in Haiti to go to an area where 50,000 people are in desperate need for emergency medical care, food, water and body disposal needs. This is a huge task for them to take on. I recieved a phone call early this morning stating that there was another after shock earthquake of 6.1 and the person was curious if my father was there yet. He was there and this sent chills down my spine like never before. Within minutes we were able to get a hold of someone on his team that stated they were all okay. This was a huge relief. It also made the Haiti disaster much more real to me.
If you look at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch today, he is on the front cover and there are two Channel 5 reporters with him. SOOO I am asking for your help; these people need us and this is more real than ever before. I have never used my platform as your doctor for any type of agenda, but today’s events prompt me to try to do my part in being able to help.
The first thing is to please pray for their safety and that they can effectively help the people who are most in need. The second thing you can do is to personally help these people by donating money. ICA guarantees 100% of your donation will be designated for Haiti Relief efforts. Attached is a link to the ICA website where you can give a secure donation online. You can also mail a check to ICA, P.O. Box 510167, St. Louis, 63151, or give one when you are in the office next.
Thank you for hearing my heart and joining me to provide life-saving care to a city in Haiti that has yet to be reached with aid.
